In 1901, a young Swedish man named Otto Johnson ended a ten year career as a merchant sailor to bring his Danish wife Camilla, and their firstborn son Jens Otto, across the ocean from Sweden to the United States. On a farm in Sequim the couple raised three more sons and two daughters, instilling in them a love of nature, a thirst for learning in all forms, and an abiding belief in the importance of family.
This website is created for the descendants of Otto and Camilla, everyone who is a Sporseen by birth or by choice, to document the stories that have shaped our family and help us maintain strong ties, just as Otto and Camilla would have wanted.
